POLISH ASSOCIATION FOR LANDSCAPE ECOLOGY 

     Polish Association for Landscape Ecology has been founded in 1993 as a Polish Division pof International Association for Landscape Ecology (IALE). According to the statute of the PAEK the organization has the following aims:
    - contribution to the development of landscape ecology as science and undertaking actions aimed at increase of public opinion 
       interest in this discipline;
    - propagation of the idea on integrated, interdisciplinary research of natural environment,
    - propagation in education of new specialist in landscape ecology
    - maintenance, support and facilitation of contacts among scientists, organizations and practitioners active in the field of 
        landscape ecology.

     PAEK is a continuator of activities of the Club of Landscape Ecology of the Polish Geographical Society which in the years 1988-1993 gathered Polish landscape ecologists and acted as a national IALE organization. 
     The fundamental form of activity of both these bodies are scientific conferences. As a result of most conferences their proceedings were published in series The Problems of Landscape Ecology.
     PAEK organizes competitions for the M.A. dissertations from domain of landscape ecology. Twice a year The Bulletin of Polish Association for Landscape Ecology is published, contains information on the activities, conferences, symposia and review of publications.
